My first cards as a CDS Guest Designer

These are the pictures I took with my camera. I will swap these out when my neighbor takes a better photo. When I first saw this stamp set, Hanging Out, I immediately thought of christmas stockings hanging on the fire place even though it is a summer themed stamp set. I went through the CDS designer gallery to see if anyone else had the same idea, but I didn't see one like it. Yay for me! I didn't know what I would do to make it look like the stockings were on the fireplace so I sponged in some red and yellow to give the illusion of a fire. The patterned paper and the tree came from Bitty Scrap-Pads "it's Christmas". I stamped each stocking on a different sheet of PP and then pasted them onto the clothes line.

Here's the specs:
Stamp set: Hanging Out by Clear Dollar Stamps
CS and papers: vanilla, patterned paper from Bitty Scrap-Pads, "Its Christmas"
Ink: Yo-Yo Yellow, real red and black
Markers: Creamy caramel (to color in the clothes pins)
accessories and embellishments: tree brads, computer/printer to type, "merry Christmas", ribbon
Coloring medium: markers
Special techniques: stamping on pattern paper

This is my Beautiful Ballerina! I saw a layout in Traci Major's blog that I liked. You can visit her blog here. I left out one element from the layout because it would have covered the background too much.

Stamps: Bee-utiful Ballerina by Clear Dollar Stamps
CS and paper: white, black, barely banana (or so saffron, I can't tell), rose red and the blue one Vikki Jo sent me so I don't know what it is.
Ink: black, bashful blue, barely banana
Markers: rose red, pretty in pink, black, bashful blue, brown
accessories: button brads, stickles, colored pencil (peach), cuttle bug folder and large square scalloped die, ribbon
special techniques: One sheet wonder

  3. I like the Christmas stocking one the best, the layout works really well and the colors and the trees are great choices.
The bee ballerina is cute, I'm just wondering if, since it is a ballerina, she might like a bit of ribbon over the black, to help her tie her tutu. :)
