MMSC #46

Yoo hoo! I am almost late, but I am here! This cute little Tilda named "sweet Tilda" was a birthday gift from a dear friend of mine. As usual, I did the card backwards. I colored first and then had to run to the store to find paper to match. Once and awhile I do it the right way and pick my paper first and then color. Thankfully it all worked out in the end. The sketch is from Midnight Madness and was a bit tricky with all of the layers. I used the design element of the cherry blossoms of one of the DP and cut it out and used it as the strip up the side and along the bottom. The bottom layer of the 3 stacked pieces is the backside of the largest dps. It was a nice moment when I realized the paper had a backside. It made life just that much easier. The flower was from a dork sister.

MMSC#45

This is a tent card. Peggysue sent me one for my birthday and it was just gorgeous! I combined the tent card with the Midnight Madness sketch challenge for this week. Like how the third panel is the cut away? I did! It took me about an hour to color in Tilda. Tilda, by the way, was inked for my by Traci M. Thanks, Traci! I like this image and may ask for more down the road.

I finally got it

Whew! I finally got it done right! Thanks to the wonderful advice of my dork sister, Peggysue, who suggested that the paper I previously used was too bold for my image. I completely agreed and found this paper at JoAnn's. I kept the layout simple so that the focus is on the image. Also, there really isn't a lot of room to add more elements. This card will be going to another Dork Sister, Grace, who has fallen on some hard times. Her beloved cat died suddenly and she is heartbroken over his/her death. Grace, I am so sorry your heart is hurting.
So, I think this will be my second AI submission for this month.

Possible second card for the AI contest

This a possible card for me to enter in the AI contest this month. I am unsure yet if I am going to submit it. This is not the image I really wanted to use for it. The image I really wanted to use it WAY too large and I haven't found the right way to use it yet. Give me your opinion if you think it's a thumbs up or thumbs down.

My Dork Sister, Traci, sent me this Tilda image and the prima flower for my birthday! I stopped what I was working on (AI contest) and whipped up this card. Meanwhile the cards I need to get made aren't being done!

MMSC #44

I first need to mention that MARCH 15 is my birthday!!! In case you don't have my snail mail address I have it below. I will break my rule of not posting personal information here on my blog just for you!!
(Info has been removed)

This is my Midnight Madness entry for this week. It is also my first entry for Art Impressions March contest. The theme for this month is troubled times-get well, sympathy or encouraging cards. I am waiting until my new stamps come in to make the second card. In the meantime I have some birthday cards to make for the birthday RAKs for this month for SCS. I send out extras for this month...I send one card to each person on the RAK list who shares my birthday!!! Woo hoo!! I love my birthday! Did you know that I have a birthday twin?? Chef Mama, a fellow Dork Sister, has her birthday the same day, but she's just a tad older than me. Sorry, Lori, I did have to add that!

MMSC #43

First I have to tell all of you that I won 2nd place for my Annie card at Art Impressions. Take a look here. I am so excited!

This here is my Midnight Madness entry for this week. Dotty is the character you see. I bought her with my winnings from last month at Art Impressions. She just cracks me up! She looks so happy and content with who she is and what she is doing. Dotty is living in the moment! I decided to use the vellum as the layer behind the main image because everything else I used covered up my pretty brown patterned paper. The butterflies are rub-ons and I colored Dotty with copic markers. This card is meant for my Dork Sister, Vikki Jo for her birthday next week. Vikki has a fear of butterflies (I know! Crazy isn't it?) Well, the rest of the dork sisters and I tend to send Vikki Jo butterfly cards to tease her.
Well ladies, put your big girl panties on and go dance!

Stamp: Dotty by Art Impressions
paper: vellum, pattern paper from butterflies and blossoms mat stack
markers: copics YG 11,13,17 B14, R20, 27, E000, 00, 11
accessories: cuttlebug folder and nestie dies.
