MMSC #39

If you didn't see my post below please take a look. I think that card is a hoot!

Anyway this is my submission for the Midnight Madness sketch challenge. It was my hubby's birthday this week so I was trying to make a manly card. It didn't happen.
Thursday I had a co-worker who asked to borrow my cuttlebug until Tuesday. I felt pressured to get this card done as I only had Thursday night to complete it (with my cuttlebug). It's still a pretty card, but definitely not manly. I started out with a manly card as the wreath is made out of leaves from the stamp set "Indian Summer" by Rubber Stamp Tapestry, but from there it kept getting girly. Oh well!

  1. Well, if hubby loves you, he will love this card you made for him, but manly or not....he will like it too. I happen to love it myself. I like the way the nestie is bordered with design and the velvet brads in the middle of those flowers. For being pressured, it looks marvelous. Maybe you should always work under pressure. ;)

Thanks for playing with us at the MMSC this week!

  4. Karen Lynn ~ Lovely card, I love the plaid paper and the soft colors!! Why can't men like flowers? A lot of the cards in the stores have flowers for men. This will appeal to his feminine side... He probably has at least small feminine side... The Midnight Madness Design Team thanks you for playing with us this week!!

  6. Hi Karen Lynn, it is great to see you here again this week. I love this card - the image around the circle is gorgeous and so beautifully coloured!! It may not be the masculine card you intended but it is certainly lovely - cards can have a mond of their own! Thanks for playing along with the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week, we value your support and would love to see you again next week! God bless you! (((hugs)))

  7. Karen...you are so funny...I know that I find it very difficult to make masculine cards....those girlie embellishments call out to me until I can't stand it any longer. They had the nerve to make me but a "BOW" on a baseball Valentine card!!! YIKES!!! So the family just get's used to it...I have all boys..LOL I am sure your husband will treasure this card as you made it from your heart. That stamp around the circle is amazing along with your coloring. I love the embossed wood too. A beautiful card! Thanks for playing along with as this week. Here at Midnight Madness we enjoy your friendship and love having you as part of our crafting family.

  9. I really like the plaid, I think that helps with the guy card theme. And you are getting great use out of the RST stamps that you have, I think the framing is beautiful. And the colors are just so representative of Spring that I think we're all longing for at this point.
