Hip, hip hurray! The mail plane is here today!

Here is my submission for Art Impression's April contest. The theme this month was to use the picture of the mail plane. I liked the idea of a tent card for this one, I don't know if that shows up very well, though.
I love getting snail mail. I am like a little kid each day when I check the mail hoping, just hoping for some happy mail. Happy mail from my Dork Sisters is the best! Actually, any unexpected happy mail is the best!! I equate myself with Harv here as he does his happy dance that the mail plane showed up. What could be better??
I used crackle on the picture to help antique it a bit. As the crackle was drying I placed the picture out of the way....or so I thought. The kids managed to find it and still put something on top of it! Thankfully, their mistake added to the antique look to the picture.
I managed to come up with this layout all by myself. I am very impressed as I tend to be layout impaired. I rely heavily on Midnight Madness for my card layouts each week. I love Priscilla's layouts as they do stretch my creativity each week.
The paper I bought a couple of weeks ago. It was either at Joann's, Wisconsin craft market or Michael's. Sorry for not knowing. I don't keep track.

Here's the deets:
stamp: Harv by Art Impressions
paper: Designer paper (pretty sure it was Michael's)
Markers: Copics
Accessories: Cuttlebug, cuttlebug folder, nesties and Basic Grey buttons

Hey, as always, thanks for looking! Please leave a note below. I enjoy hearing from you!

  3. Ha! Reminds me of a scene from "Up" with the antique airplan and Harv jumping for joy. Great idea and that is a cool layout, great job, I rely on other folks' layouts too. I like the idea to use the crackle on the plane too and as a tent card, so the plane is 'flying.'

  4. Fun card, Karen, and if you click on the picture twice you can see the plane all antiqued and crackly! I love happy mail too...it's one of the many benefits of being a dork sister! Great job on your sketch challenge for yourself!
